OneGoat selected as charitable organization

Pino’s Italian Kitchen and Bar hosted their 6th annual 9/11 Eat for a Cause fundraiser on Sunday, September 11th. Joe and Allison Sabia are the owners of Pino’s and every year remember the events of 9.11.01 by donating the day’s proceeds to a local charity that supports Colorado first responders. For the second year, OneGoat Foundation was selected as the charity of choice.

The day included performances from Colorado’s own pipes and drum band Colorado Emerald Society, a remembrance speech by retired NYFD and Pino’s owner Joe Sabia who himself was dispatched to the towers that fateful day. It’s an event to never forget and celebrate our country’s first responders.

This year’s event honored South Metro Fire Rescue’s own Tony Palato who lost his battle with cancer last year . Firefighters have a 9 percent higher risk of being diagnosed with cancer and a 14 percent higher risk of dying from cancer than the general U.S. population, according to research by the CDC/National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH).

This year’s event raised over $12,000 for our first responders. Thank you to all the patrons of Pino’s who had a great dinner, purchased OneGoat merchandise and donated through Pino’s silent auction.

The OneGoat Foundation is dedicated to supporting Colorado’s first responders with the financial assistance they need when battling cancer, mental and physical health challenges and funeral services. We support Fire, Police, EMS and Dispatch personnel. Partnering with Pino’s for our second year helps bring awareness to our two-year old organization and educate civilians about why our first responders need our support.

OneGoat partners with Braincode Centers to provide neurofeedback for first responders targeting anxiety, sleep disorders, performance and memory among many other brain related challenges. We work closely with Revital Colorado to get first responders out of their element and up to the mountains on retreats and Code-4 Counseling for mental health services.

We look forward to seeing all of you next year on September 11, 2023. Stay tuned for more events hosted by OneGoat Foundation.
